During National Apprenticeship Week (6-12 February), leading hygiene services provider, phs Group, announces it has shared over £85,000 in vital funding with small businesses to offer apprenticeship opportunities. phs has over 100 colleagues on apprenticeship programmes but has also been supporting an array of companies by transferring funds under the apprenticeship levy it pays the Government, to help them train and upskill their own staff, which they would otherwise be unable to do.

One of the UK’s leading PPE providers is warning businesses about a worrying rise in the number of employees taking their technical workwear home to be washed. phs Besafe, which offers specialist protective workwear and industrial laundry services, is seeing increasing reports of PPE being cleaned at home, in many cases along with family clothing and bedding. “Not only is this dangerous for the employee and others that live with them, but it also poses a major risk to the business who have a legal responsibility to ensure that the PPE provided is cared for, maintained and fit for purpose,” said Derek Brown, Managing Director of phs Besafe.

phs Compliance based in Warrington has appointed a dedicated General Manager for Electric Vehicle Infrastructure, as the leading compliance provider expands its electric vehicle division nationwide. Natalie Morden has been with the phs Group – which phs Compliance is part of – for the last eight years, working in the hygiene division as the Midlands Regional Sales Manager. She makes the move to the newly created role of General Manager EV Infrastructure for phs Compliance as the business continues to grow its electric vehicle charger installation services.

Euro Car Parts is the UK’s leading distributor of car parts and accessories with over 200 sites across the country. With demand for its services higher than ever, the business has more than 500,000 branded totes in transit as it moves parts around the UK. However, its main warehouse in Tamworth found itself accumulating over 20,000 totes, all heavily contaminated with oil and excessive labelling making them unfit for use. Becky Brown joins the team at the UK’s leading crate services provider with over 20 years’ experience in packaging sales. She has spent the last seven years as UK Convenience Sales Director for a US listed global business specialising in printed cartons for some of the world’s biggest international brands. At phs Teacrate, Becky will manage an external sales team of six people based across the UK working with a variety of businesses, including the food industry, to meet their product moving and storage needs.
