Fire Industry Association (FIA) has published its first Market Conditions Review.
The Review is a ‘snapshot’, taken every six months, of the fire sector providing an independent look at the state of the fire protection market in comparison with the preceding six months.
The Review states that “In comparison with the previous period, over the last six months the fire sector has experienced a gradual recovery with the private sector providing most of the low levels of growth. However competition in the sector remains high as the majority of companies report a fall or no change in tender values, while at the same time their suppliers are putting up prices”.
The Review is a result of a survey of both FIA members and non-members across the UK.
The survey includes questions about:
•amount of enquiries received by the FIA members and non-members
•amount of training carried out by the companies
•amount of tenders in the industry requiring Third Party Certification etc.
The FIA’s CEO Graham Ellicott commented that “It is encouraging to see that the call for third party certificated companies is increasing, plus FIA member companies reported a substantial increase in enquiries. Indeed this increase was nearly three times the level reported by non-members!”
