Still Time To Register For The RoSPA Awards 2012

Organisations wishing to participate in the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2012 have just over a week left to register for entry.

Registration – which is taking place at www.rospa.com/awards/ – closes on December 1. Organisations that meet this deadline will then have until February 1 to submit their full entries on RoSPA Awards USB keys.

Dating back to 1956, RoSPA’s awards scheme is the largest and longest-running occupational safety awards programme in the UK. It recognises commitment to accident and ill health prevention and is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas.

The majority of awards are non-competitive and recognise entrants’ overarching health and safety management systems, including important practices such as strong leadership and workforce involvement. Competitive sector awards are presented to the top-performing organisations in around 20 different industries. There are also a variety of specialist awards which recognise excellence in specific areas:

The Workforce Involvement in Safety and Health Trophy – sponsored by Westinghouse Springfields Fuels Ltd
The International Dilmun Environmental Award – sponsored by Gulf Petrochemicals Industry Company of Bahrain
The Managing Occupational Road Risk Trophy – sponsored by Allianz Insurance plc
The SME Assistance Trophy – sponsored by BHSF (nominations for this trophy will be accepted until January 14).
The headline sponsor for the RoSPA Awards is once again NEBOSH (the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health). Presentation ceremonies will take place alongside Safety and Health Expo in Birmingham from May 15-17, 2012, and also in Glasgow on September 20, 2012.

The RoSPA Awards scheme has been announced as a finalist in two categories at the UK Event Awards 2011. The winners will be revealed at a ceremony at Wembley Stadium on November 30.
