Angeline Cross, who is employed by Sodexo, a leading provider of on-site service solutions, has been honoured with a Butler Trust Award at Buckingham Palace. Angeline, resettlement team leader at HMP Bronzefield, is the first Sodexo employee to ever win a Butler Award, which is an annual scheme, set up to celebrate the dedication, skill and creativity of those working in correctional facilities. Angeline was singled out for the Award as a direct result of her work in setting up the first Women’s Institute facility within a prison. Angeline joined her local WI to make sure HMP Bronzefield would accurately reflect how WIs are run and operated, while ensuring that the facility would provide services that meet the needs of prisoners. On receiving the Award from Her Royal Highness, Princess Anne, Angeline said: “I was exceptionally proud to receive my Award. Recognition for a project you care so much about is always nice, but this was something truly special.” Commenting on Angeline’s achievement, Tony Leech, managing director, Sodexo Justice Services, said: “I am delighted to hear that Angeline has received this well deserved recognition. She has shown limitless enthusiasm and passion, which has ensured the project is a success. We are very proud of her.”
