Leafield Environmental is working round the clock to manufacture recycling bins for Scotland.
Changes in Scottish waste and recycling laws, which come into force in January next year, has led to 120% increase in orders for internal recycling bins and 230% lift in demand for outdoor recycling units in public places compared to 2012.
Leafield Environmental manufactures high quality recycling and litter bins for a wide range of industries across the UK. As well as private businesses the recent interest from Scottish customers include universities, local councils and waste companies all looking for an easy solution to segregating waste to meet the new legislation.
Scotland’s businesses produce an estimated 6.5million tonnes of waste every year and these changes form part of the Scottish Government’s Zero Waste Scotland strategy to recycle 70% of all waste by 2025.
Plastic, glass, metal, paper cardboard and food waste must be segregated to make it easy to collect for recycling. Food production businesses and restaurants producing over 50 kg of food waste per week will also have a weekly collection.
Leafield’s Business Development Manager for Scotland, Christine McIntyre said: “We are delighted to be helping our Scottish customers to increase recycling in line with the new laws.
If businesses take these simple steps to manage waste they will begin to save money and generate income to boost their bottom line. Our bin designs are hard-wearing and flexible enough to fit any environment and we provide all the waste streams necessary to do the job.”
Leafield provides a total recycling solution with numerous base and waste aperture combinations as well as clear labelling and signage, making it easy to install and use our bins straight away.
