Sodexo, the world’s largest services company, has extended its contract with Birmingham City University for a further two years.
Working in partnership with the university since 2010, the contract will see Sodexo continue to provide catering and hospitality services to seven university outlets – including the Costa coffee shops on site – until 2016.
Sodexo has worked closely with the university over the duration of the previous three year contract, having improved the standard of the food served and launched new food services at the Parkside Building, as part of the university’s £180m redevelopment project.
The Sodexo team has also successfully improved the university’s presence on social media, running a successful campaign during Fresher’s week which attracted lots of new interest in the catering outlets on site.
On the extension of the contract, Paul Anstey, managing director, commercial education, Sodexo, said: “We are delighted to have had our contract with Birmingham City University extended for a further two years. Sodexo has really driven the marketing activity on site over the last year, raising the profile of the services we provide, but there is a lot more to be done and we look forward to working with the university over the next two years.”
