Two Stannah lifts are buzzing people and goods about Za Za Bazaar Banquet and Bar in Bristol’s thriving Harbourside development. Hailed as the biggest restaurant in the UK, this buffet-dining flagship launches a new concept of super world restaurant being rolled out across the country. A Maxilift MXL MRLI (motor room-less) passenger lift and Trolleylift 250 HPU goods lift have been installed in this 1000-cover restaurant – first of eight planned in the UK, all dedicated to high quality global cuisine prepared fresh in front of guests by specialist chefs. Both lifts were adapted to suit the venue’s individual style and function. Hydraulically driven over 4500mm in a wall-mounted shaft, the 8-person Maxilift MXL moves patrons between the ground-floor bar and mezzanine restaurant. The MRLi (motor room-less) capability saves space by locating the lift workings in the pit. The MXL is the luxury Maxilift model and offers a Special Finishes capability to flex with every décor demand. The car interior is finished in polished black glass with colourful patchwork floor tiling continued from the foyer. At ground-floor level, signature copper fasciae to the door fronts and surrounds reflects the venue’s individuality. Supplied structure supported for easy installation, the Trolleylift 250 HPU handles goods and supplies between the delivery, kitchen and storage areas ranged over three floors. Finished in tough baked enamel, it has been modified to flex with the layout of the premises: a 250kg model was uprated to a 300kg carrying capacity with left-hand hinged doors, and the top-floor entrance was configured right-adjacent to the lower two entrances. Both lifts have contributed significantly to delivering outstanding customer service as Za Za Bazaar Marketing Manager, Kerry Lloyd, comments: “Thanks to the bespoke Maxilift MXL passenger lift, people of all mobility levels can access all our facilities and really experience what this ground-breaking, super world restaurant has to offer. The Trolleylift 250 HPU contributes to back-of-house movement of goods and supplies, helping us to streamline customer service and keep the unique buzz that is Za Za Bazaar’s signature.” The Maxilift MXL helps the premises owners meet the requirements of the Equality Act 2010; and the Trolleylift 250 HPU complies with the Essential Safety Requirements (ESRs) of the Machinery (Safety) Regulations 1992, also known as the Machinery Directive and EN 81-3 where applicable. Stannah is also providing full support with both lifts maintained by the South West England and South Wales branch of Stannah Lift Services. Part of Stannah’s nationwide network of service branches, this branch is on-hand 24/7, 365 days a year to keep the region’s lifts in peak condition.
