One-trip packaging, like cardboard boxes, is falling out of favour amidst rising costs and greater eco-awareness as more companies strive to become carbon neutral and zero waste businesses.
During National Apprenticeship Week (6-12 February), leading hygiene services provider, phs Group, announces it has shared over £85,000 in vital funding with small businesses to offer apprenticeship opportunities. phs has over 100 colleagues on apprenticeship programmes but has also been supporting an array of companies by transferring funds under the apprenticeship levy it pays the Government, to help them train and upskill their own staff, which they would otherwise be unable to do.

Euro Car Parts is the UK’s leading distributor of car parts and accessories with over 200 sites across the country. With demand for its services higher than ever, the business has more than 500,000 branded totes in transit as it moves parts around the UK. However, its main warehouse in Tamworth found itself accumulating over 20,000 totes, all heavily contaminated with oil and excessive labelling making them unfit for use. As well as creating an eyesore outside the warehouse, the unusable totes were causing the business a financial challenge.
