Toshiba Air Conditioning shortlisted for five major awards in national technology competition

Toshiba Air Conditioning, division of Toshiba Carrier UK Ltd, has been shortlisted for no fewer than five awards in the Cooling Industry Awards 2013. The accolades include a shortlisting in the prestigious Air Conditioning Product of the Year category for the company’s recently launched SHRM-i 3-pipe heat recovery air conditioning system. It is believed to be the most efficient VRF system in the market at part-load conditions. Continuing the green theme, Toshiba’s refrigerant leak prevention and management systems have also been shortlisted in the same category. The technology, which attracts BREEAM points, is being adopted by a growing list of national end users, keen to eliminate the possibility of refrigerant leaks from their buildings. On the project front, a major installation programme to equip 21 new Community Fire and Rescue Stations in the North of England with state-of-the-art air conditioning and heat-pump-based heating has won Toshiba a finalist’s place in two further award categories: Air Conditioning Project of the Year, and Industrial / Commercial Project of the Year. The stations are equipped with a combination of Toshiba’s 3-pipe VRF, splits and high efficiency VN system, a super-performance air-to-air heat exchanger that captures energy that would otherwise be lost, significantly improving overall building energy efficiency. Finally, Toshiba has been shortlisted for Marketing Campaign of the Year for its impactful, co-ordinated promotional campaign to raise the company’s profile in the trade and end user markets.
