OCS has recently secured a contract with Liverpool John Lennon Airport to provide PRM services. OCS is charged with ensuring that passengers with reduced mobility (PRMs) experience a timely, safe and comfortable passage through the airport and has introduced new equipment, signage and uniforms to improve services.
LJLA is in the top 10 of the UK’s busiest airports and OCS will be responsible for ensuring the smooth transit of over 30,000 PRM’s from arrival at the airport through to their seat on the aircraft and on inbound aircraft through to the designated transfer point. Approximately 40 staff have transferred across to OCS from the previous contractor, all receiving full refresher training on the handling of passengers and new equipment.
Jonathan Brennand, Head of Procurement at LJLA commented, “There was some doubt that the transition could be achieved in the time scale allowed, but we have completed the task at hand and the transfer was seamless.”
OCS has been providing services for passengers with reduced mobility (PRM) at UK airports since 1992. The company has over 40 years’ experience of working in partnership with airports and airlines to provide a range of bespoke services, achieving improved standards and delivering value. OCS currently provides assistance to over 1 million passengers a year.
