Ever since the establishment of Sharp Electronics (Europe) GmbH (SEEG) in 1968, located in Hamburg, Sharp has been steadily expanding its business activities in Europe. In the past forty-one years, we have grown to a total of 17 bases, comprising 1 laboratory, 4 manufacturing sites, 11 sales subsidiaries and 1 finance company. Today, with a 29 per cent share of Sharp’s entire overseas business in 2008, Europe is one of our company’s most important markets.

The product spectrum ranges from consumer electronics (in particular LCD TVs and audio systems) and white goods (e.g. microwave ovens) via digital information systems (e.g. copying systems, MFPs, PDAs) and mobile phones to solar cells and modules. Moreover, the development of core digital technologies and components for electronic products (e.g. optoelectronics, infrared and flash memory electronics) belong to the core competences of Sharp.

Our aim is to further develop and expand Europe’s significance as Sharp’s market of the future in the core business fields of LCD-TVs, Solar Systems, Component Business and Document Solutions.
