London, 6 January 2020: Leading provider EMCOR UK has been awarded a multi-million pound hard facilities management (FM) contract by the University of Oxford, following a competitive tender process. Demonstrating growing momentum in the Higher Education sector, EMCOR UK will be responsible for the provision of hard FM services to medical research buildings of the University estate this currently covers thirty buildings, spanning 100,000 m2.
As part of the contract, EMCOR UK will deliver planned, preventative and reactive maintenance at the university, as well as helpdesk services and specialist supply chain monitoring on a diverse range of plant, equipment and systems. With the University academics carrying out world-leading, innovative research, optimising the functionality and performance of the buildings for all its occupants is of paramount importance.
To complement the university and city’s ongoing Low Carbon City mission and sustainable transport objectives, EMCOR UK produced a sustainable programme that aims to invest in the most environmentally efficient ways to commute. Specifically, EMCOR UK will provide a fleet of eco efficient vehicles to move specialist engineers around the various sites.
The University of Oxford contract is just the latest in a series of wins for EMCOR UK in Higher Education sector, demonstrating its extensive expertise of running complex and highly technical facilities for world leading organisations in this particular sector.
The contract with the University of Oxford is for a period of five years with the potential of a two year extension.
