OCS has been named Business of the Year in the prestigious Gatwick Diamond Business Awards 2012. Chairman of the judges, Jeremy Taylor, said: “Recognising and rewarding business innovation and success is at the heart of these awards. The aim is to raise awareness of entrepreneurship and business excellence and to help showcase business talent in the Gatwick Diamond region.” The Gatwick Diamond is one of the key economic regions in the South East and set to become a world-class business destination. Twenty judges from a diverse cross section of industry sectors chose the awards winners. These three key ingredients confirmed OCS’s credentials as outstanding ambassadors for the Gatwick Diamond and deserving winners of Business of the Year.” OCS has been a major employer in the region since the 1960s and currently employs around 1,700 staff, as well as engaging over 120 suppliers. The business recently re-located its UK head office to the Tilgate Forest Business Park. In 2010, OCS was given the opportunity by its customer Gatwick Airport Ltd to listen to their needs and create a new service delivery model in partnership with them. OCS adapted its organisation design to precisely meet the client’s need and, as a consequence, grew its business in the Gatwick Diamond by £13.8 million over nine months. Martin Gammon, Managing Director for OCS in the UK, said: “This award is a demonstration of our commitment to growth as a sustainable business in the area and is also a testament to the quality of our people.”
