Latest figures from Futurebuild 2026 confirm the new built environment super event – co-located with UK Construction Week (UKCW) London and The Stone & Surfaces Show –  attracted 20,784 attendees, with access to the latest innovations being the number one draw for 76%.

On the back of this insight organisers are now set to launch a new ‘Innovation Showcase’ at UK Construction Week Birmingham (29 September – 1 October at the NEC).

The ‘best of Futurebuild’ experience extending to the Midlands will put a welcome spotlight on the proven solutions that are real-world ready, deliverable at scale and have been launched within the last 12 months. The appetite for new products and breakthrough initiatives across the Futurebuild community is clear with all five of the show’s innovation trail partners for 2026 in the top 20 lead generating exhibitors.

“People want sign-posting to where genuine innovation is happening and that goes beyond the M25,” says Martin Hurn, the newly appointed Editorial and Content Director across all three co-located shows.

“Futurebuild 2026 was immense and it got me thinking about how we can practically keep the momentum going and remove some of the obstacles to getting the latest, greatest advancements in front of construction professionals committed to driving progress. The Innovation Showcase is our answer  – a curated destination where the industry’s most exciting developments get the visibility they deserve.”

A prime example of the type of proven, scalable solutions Futurebuild has a history of spotlighting is Madaster UK – this year’s winner of the show’s Big Innovation Pitch. Its Vinted-style materials marketplace, Madaster Match, has already been tried and tested in Germany and the Netherlands and is now set for wider adoption in the UK.

Alongside the exhibition element of the Birmingham showcase will be the Innovation Stage – a space for fast-paced presentations and the valuable knowledge share that has also long been associated with Futurebuild.

With three quarters of London’s attendees citing CPD-accredited learning opportunities as the second biggest reason for registering, UKCW Birmingham’s visitors can expect inspiring on-stage talks that translate into meaningful conversations on the floor.

Indeed, The National Retrofit and Futurebuild Arena conferences drew in over 5,000 delegates earlier this year, when over 600 speakers delivered at least 250 hours of accredited content across the super event’s 13 main stages.
