New sustainable cheeky range at phs Direct saves trees

Workplace consumables provider phs Direct has launched a new partnership with industry distributor Cheeky Panda to offer an extensive new range of environmentally-conscious toilet rolls, tissues and wipes.

Instead of being produced from paper, the entire Cheeky Panda range is created from bamboo – the fastest growing plant in the world – helping to save trees and create a more environmentally-sustainable supply chain. Growing 30 times faster than trees, bamboo is extremely renewable and produces 30% more oxygen and absorbs 35% more carbon. In the last four years, Cheeky Panda has helped save more than 120,000 trees by using FSC-certified bamboo as an alternative source for its products.

phs Direct made the announcement of the new partnership to coincide with World Bamboo Day on Friday, September 18.

The new Cheeky Panda range offered by phs Direct includes sustainable bamboo toilet roll and tissues as well as bamboo wet wipes, surface wipes and hand wipes which are entirely biodegradable and plastic free, unlike 90% of traditional products, while the hand and kitchen towels are genuinely flushable. In addition, the plastic-free range provides businesses with enhanced eco-friendly consumable options with products packaged in fully-recyclable paper or cardboard packaging. Unlike traditional paper production, bamboo also needs no fertiliser or pesticides and is naturally hypoallergenic, suitable for sensitive skin.
