Olympia, London’s newest destination for entertainment, culture and hospitality and business, has officially opened its doors to the public following a £1.3 billion transformation, with ABM, a leading provider of facility solutions, appointed to ensure the 140-year-old landmark development performs at its best.
Awarded an integrated facilities solutions contract at the iconic West London venue, ABM has been working hand in hand with the construction team throughout the redevelopment to keep the evolving estate clean and safe. With Olympia’s phased opening now under way, ABM’s focus has shifted to the venue’s public realm and corporate real estate spaces, delivering a full suite of integrated and specialist services.
The partnership further strengthens ABM’s growing portfolio of high-profile venues, following its recent appointment at Chelsea FC, and reflects increasing demand for specialist facilities expertise in complex, high-footfall destinations where visitor experience is paramount.
Olympia’s next chapter reintroduces the landmark as one of the capital’s most exciting destinations, with further openings across the estate to come throughout 2026 and 2027. The regeneration is projected to inject more than £600 million into the UK economy, with an estimated annual footfall of 10 million.
Responsible for ensuring every visitor experiences Olympia at its very best, ABM delivers services that support a premium environment across one of London’s most anticipated new spaces, for the Olympia estate as well as its events. The 90-strong team includes specialists such as highly trained abseil cleaners, lift operators, porters, forklift drivers, cloakroom attendants and many more to support Olympia’s exhibitions and packed performance calendar. It is a relentless schedule that demands meticulous organisation, a highly coordinated team and the flawless delivery of a first-class guest experience.
Richard Sykes, Senior Vice President and President for ABM in the UK and Ireland said: “Olympia is one of the most iconic and exciting destinations to open in London in a generation, and our job is to make sure it shines – not just from its appearance but from its fantastic customer experience. Whether it’s presenting the public realm at a premium standard or keeping a packed events calendar running seamlessly behind the scenes, our team is there to deliver the experience people expect from a venue of this calibre.
“We’re bringing decades of experience supporting world-class stadiums, arenas and convention centres across North America and the UK and Ireland. Olympia is a brilliant showcase of what we do best: complex, high-footfall, high-profile environments where five-star customer experience and precision matter.”
Alyson Hodkinson, Estate Director at Olympia Estates said: “Every detail of Olympia has been reimagined with the visitor in mind, and the standards behind the scenes have to match the ambition of what we’ve created. ABM has been a trusted partner throughout the redevelopment, working closely with our team to understand the needs of the estate and support its transition into operation. Their expertise and commitment will continue to play a crucial role as we continue our phased opening and welcome more visitors.”
With more than 17,000 team members across the UK and Ireland, ABM continues to provide industry-leading solutions to a diverse client base from both the private and public sectors including transport, critical environments, healthcare, CRE, manufacturing & distribution, life sciences and sports and entertainment.
