ABM UK cleans up at prestigious industry awards, with three wins and one highly commended

ABM has won three awards for its cleaning services at the 2020 Kimberly-Clark Professional Golden Service Awards.

The facilities solutions provider won the ‘Best Clean Premises’ award for office areas between 100,000 and 300,000 square feet for their work with 14 Pier Walk, as well as ‘Best Clean Premises’ for Shopping Malls over 1m square feet for the partnership with The Centre Livingston. ABM’s people were also celebrated, with Helena Costa winning ‘Site Supervisor of the Year’ and Wayne Middleton being highly commended for the same award.

Speaking on the wins, ABM UK Managing Director John McPherson, commented: “We are truly delighted to see our teams being recognised for the fantastic work they do to make a difference every day. We know that delivering a world-class cleaning service can enhance productivity in office spaces and enrich the guest experience when it comes to shopping centres, and we are so proud to be part of this.”

Created nearly 30 years ago, the biennial Golden Service Awards is today one of the most prestigious events and sought-after accolades in the FM and cleaning industry. The event provides the opportunity for FM companies, contract cleaners and in-house cleaning teams to showcase excellence and set the benchmark for exceptional standards. Awards were presented to winners across 18 categories at a formal ceremony on 4 March at the London Hilton on Park Lane, hosted by multi award-winning comedian, comedy writer and author Dominic Holland.

Judging was independently overseen by the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc).

Stan Atkins, Chief Executive Officer at BICSc added: “The quality of the entries in this year’s Golden Service Awards was higher than ever before and while innovation and the environment lead the agenda, three other key words sum up the evolution of this industry: Respect; Diversity and Wellbeing. Respect – for cleaning operatives; Diversity – in employment and opportunity; and an exciting focus on wellbeing, staff welfare, and mental health.”

Over 500 professionals from small, medium and large contract cleaning firms and in-house teams, as well as local authorities and hospitals attended the Kimberly-Clark Professional Golden Service Awards.
