The Council of the Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers’ Association (CHSA) has taken the decision to expand its secretariat capabilities and, after a competitive tender, has appointed the secretariat services of the Cleaning and Support Services Association (CSSA) for an initial 12 month trial period. According to Stephen Harrison, chairman of the CHSA, the decision provided both the best value and the potential for an expansion of the services provided by the CHSA. “Our purpose is to promote the good work of manufacturers and distributors of cleaning and hygiene products, facilitating networking and upholding standards within the industry. This appointment will support us in this aim. “Our members will also benefit in other ways from the stronger association with the CSSA but it is extremely important to note that this move is not the first step in a formal amalgamation with the CSSA.” Andrew Large, chief executive of the CSSA will be responsible for co-ordinating and delivering the secretariat support. “I would like to take this opportunity of thanking Graham Fletcher, on behalf of us all in the Association, for the many years of valuable service given to the CHSA,” continued Stephen. “His contribution has been immense and he will be missed. We wish him well for the future.”
