New MD set to showcase phs Greenleaf’s expertise
phs Group has appointed Emily Vernon as the new Managing Director of its horticulture services company phs Greenleaf.
Emily takes the helm at Greenleaf following six years at phs Compliance and will build on the firm’s position as horticultural experts.
With more than 8,000 customers nationwide, Greenleaf has over 25 years’ experience of providing horticultural services, including indoor and outdoor planting displays, artificial and live planting, living walls, grounds maintenance services and decorated Christmas trees. Greenleaf’s customers span a variety of sectors including hospitality, retail, FMs and the public sector. It also holds a royal warrant for the installation and maintenance of plant displays at Buckingham Palace.
A qualified accountant, Emily has a consumer-focused retail background with finance roles at Bensons for Beds and Steinhoff before joining phsCompliance in 2014, initially as head of finance. Emily quickly progressed to the role of commercial director and became joint managing director in 2018 before being appointed sole managing director last year. During her tenure, she secured phs Compliance’s biggest ever contract win, introduced a service evaluation tool which has since been adopted across phs Group and saw the firm secure robust annual business growth.
She said: “I am genuinely excited to join phs Greenleaf because we have great products, a growing market and an energised and engaged team. Greenleaf is already the market leader for its core services such as exterior planting and Christmas trees but we have so much more to offer. The team’s design capability is second to none and we’re at the forefront of creating innovative and captivating products which are not only visually attractive but offer practical benefits too. In essence, we have the right products, experience and skills and I look forward to growing our presence in the marketplace and showcasing Greenleaf as true horticultural experts.”
David Taylor-Smith, CEO of phs Group, said: “Emily has a proven track record at phs and has made a tangible impact to our Compliance business. I am confident her ability and evident passion will translate into an exciting new chapter for Greenleaf. ”
