Mitsubishi Electric has announced that its environmental efforts related to supply chains have earned the company selection to the 2020 “Supplier engagement leader board,” the CDP’s Supplier Engagement programme’s highest ranking. The CDP is an international non-governmental organisation that supports environmental disclosure. This is the fourth year in which Mitsubishi Electric has earned a top ranking for excellent actions and strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and climate-change risk throughout its supply chain.
This latest announcement comes as Mitsubishi Electric received top rank “A List” designations in Climate Change and Water CDP categories at the end of last year.
“It’s great to see that the efforts of the business to ensure our products and the way our materials are sourced have been recognised by the CDP,” said Martin Fahey, Head of Sustainability at Mitsubishi Electric, UK and Ireland Branch. “We firmly believe that by continuous technological innovation and ceaseless creativity, we can help society drive towards a brighter tomorrow”.
Mitsubishi Electric’s Environmental Vision 2021 policy emphasises creating a low-carbon, recycling-based society and respecting biodiversity. The company’s Sustainability Vision 2050 states that it will “protect the air, land, and water with our… technologies to sustain a better future for all” by reducing environmental impact in global value chains, energy-saving products and systems and infrastructure, ultimately to realise decarbonisation and a more sustainable future.
