During National Apprenticeship Week (6-12 February), leading hygiene services provider, phs Group, announces it has shared over £85,000 in vital funding with small businesses to offer apprenticeship opportunities.
phs has over 100 colleagues on apprenticeship programmes but has also been supporting an array of companies by transferring funds under the apprenticeship levy it pays the Government, to help them train and upskill their own staff, which they would otherwise be unable to do.

News from the CHSA: 2022 Scheme Performance Announced
The Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association’s Independent Inspector conducted more than 139 audits in 2022, guaranteeing the continued integrity of the Association’s Accreditation Schemes. In the process he inspected over 1,500 labels, tested over 507 product lines and physically tested 4,170 individual products. Compliance continued to be high, each Scheme achieving over 90%.
Union hits the sweet spot at Ragus Sugar with latest high speed door installation
Union Industries has continued to support the upgrade of Ragus Sugar’s facilities in Slough with a further installation of its leading high-speed industrial doors.
The latest two Bulldoors have replaced two poor performing doors at the factory’s main Vat Processing Room, that is in constant use by forklift trucks and personnel.
The British-built Bulldoors are equipped to deal with the positive pressures imposed on them by their air-filtration systems along with around the clock use, increasing productivity due to its high speed and ease of use.

Take on staff shortages without falling short this winter

B-Sure Installations has launched its B-Spoke Hygiene Boards service across the UK, following a successful trial to support customers during COVID.
B-Spoke Hygiene Boards are designed specifically to meet all a customer’s hygiene needs in one and are pre-treated to be completely anti-microbial. Each board is installed on-site by B-Sure Installation engineers into workplace and public areas to provide prominent hygiene stations with clear and understandable instructions.
Ultra-rapid Eiger Door installation keeps food service depot operational and help cut energy costs
Union Industries’ engineers acted almost as fast as its rapid roll industrial doors to ensure one of its Eiger freezer doors was fitted in record time at Total Foodservice Solutions.
To ensure that productivity at the busy Yorkshire-based food service company wasn’t impacted, installation of the Eiger door was required to take place in a two-and-a-half-day window during a weekend.
This is around half the time usually required to install the freezer door, however a team of three highly experienced Union Industries engineers, completed the job, which included the removal of an existing door, with time to spare.
