phs wins contract to supply every school and college in England with free period products
Washroom and hygiene services firm phs Group will supply every school and college in England with period products in a bid to create period equality.
Free period products, supplied by phs, will now be available to every pupil in England as part of the Department for Education’s plans to create period equality for all. The Government is funding the initiative which will provide free products for young people across secondary schools, primary schools and colleges in England.
Nestlé research means it’s ‘YES!’ for recyclable paper packaging
A technical breakthrough in confectionery packaging will see Nestlé’s ‘YES!’ snack bar range wrapped in recyclable paper for the first time.
UK based experts, working at Nestlé’s confectionery R&D centre in York, have found a way to use a recyclable paper wrapper in a high-speed ‘flow wrap cold seal’ packaging line. It represents a world first for a process that, in the past, was only suitable for plastic films and laminates.

Design for recycling and an integrated approach: the messages from the CHSA’s plastics conference
Two dominant messages emerged from the Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) conference on plastics. First, products packaging and processes need to be designed with recycling in mind. Second, an integrated approach, from the start to the finish of the supply chain, is crucial if recycling is to be increased.
