Pickerings Lifts, the largest independent lift manufacturer in the UK, has secured a five year service and maintenance contract with L&H Homes.
The contact will be handled by Pickerings Lifts’ newly expanded office in Hull, which will provide maintenance and service for L&H Homes 60 lifts across its network of properties in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.
As part of the agreement L&H Homes will benefit from Pickerings Lifts’ team of highly skilled engineers, key account managers, years of industry expertise and a 24 hour call out facility.
Pickerings Lifts has a strong company heritage working with housing associations, particularly in Yorkshire, with its Hull office having gained considerable experience working with Hull City Council.
A further benefit which secured the contract is Pickerings Lifts unique approach to routine maintenance which differs greatly from the periodic testing model commonly used by the industry. Upon every visit, L&H Homes units will be thoroughly tested by a Pickerings Lifts’ engineer to ensure both current and potential faults are reported and repaired. This approach ensures optimum performance to keep the Housing Association’s residents and staff on the move.
Kirk Lawson, sales and operations director for Pickerings Lifts says: “We are delighted to be working with L&H Homes. We’ve always had a strong links within the housing association sector which means we appreciate the challenges they face and we can adapt our approach to ensure they get the very best service possible.
“We position ourselves as the lift company everyone wants to work and we achieve this through our expertise and our 24 hours a day, 365 days a year approach to service. We appreciate when a lift or escalator needs repairing you need support straight away, especially when access is vital in a social care environment and it is this industry know-how which we believe has cemented our success for the last 158 years.”
