A school has been carrying out a feedback report on the Maruyama back pack blower for UK importer DMMP Limited. Bob Carder, head grounds man at Stamford School in Lincolnshire, agreed to trial the new Maruyama BL8200SP back pack blower by putting it through its paces at the busy independent mixed school for 2 to 18 year olds. With over 700 pupils, keeping the gardens, grounds and pathways clean is very important in avoiding slipping and tripping hazards. The school already operates an older Maruyama blower as well as other makes, so its grounds team was identified as ideal for giving an expert review of this newer model. “Myself and the team were very impressed,” commented Bob. “It is comfortable to wear on the back, and surprisingly light in weight. We also considered it to be well built and made to last.” The BL8200SP has a commercial Kawasaki engine, an extraordinary power to weight ratio and fibreglass enhanced polypropylene fan housing to keep the weight low. “Compared to other back pack blowers on the market, we felt it had more power, was well balanced and was incredibly quiet which was particularly useful when working near areas of study. It was a pleasure to use,” concluded Bob. The blower is not just good for clearing lying leaves, and blowing stray soil from walkways; Bob also reported that he has uses his Maruyama blower for snow clearance! “Customer trials are really useful to us,” explains DMMP managing director Marcus Palmer. “It gives us first hand feedback straight from the most important people, the end users. We share feedback with other customers as well as Maruyama headquarters in Japan.” The Maruyama range, as well as blowers, includes hedge trimmers, brush cutters, multicutter systems, edgers, blowers, long reach hedge trimmers and accessories. “We are always interested in hearing from organisations who would like to trial one of our products for us,” concludes Marcus. Maruyama products have been made in Japan since 1895, with a reputation for extraordinary quality, rugged durability and superior performance they are often described as ‘tools designed to earn a living’.
