New Range of Solar Energy Solutions From shentongroup

Power solutions company, shentongroup, has announced the introduction of a new range of solar energy solutions. The range is being sold to both industrial and commercial customers who, as part of their company’s environmental policy in addressing climate change, wish to be ‘seen to be green’. Government and energy utilities are embracing solar energy on a global scale because it can compete with conventional energy sources such as oil and gas not only in terms of making environmental savings, but also on grounds of cost. The announcement follows the confirmation of the Government’s Feed In Tariff Scheme (FITS), on 1st April, which pays businesses to generate their own electricity from renewable or low carbon sources. Feed In Tariffs are payments made by the Energy Companies to anyone who installs a system to generate their own electricity, including Solar Energy solutions. Backed by the Government, these tariffs are aimed at increasing the amount of renewable energy produced and used in the UK. The ultimate goal is to increase the total percentage of energy that comes from renewable sources from 2% (in 2009) to at least 15% by 2020. The scheme guarantees a minimum payment for all electricity generated by renewable sources as well as a separate payment for any electricity exported back to the grid. Energy supply companies are required to source a percentage of their energy from a renewable source in order to help cut carbon dioxide.
