The Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) is proudly promoting standards and sustainability at the Manchester Cleaning Show on 6 and 7 April 2022. As well as joining the BCC on Stand A3 and the CSSA on Stand F12, the Association will be participating in the conference. On Wednesday 6 April, CHSA Council member James Lee will be addressing the conference about the CHSA’s Roadmap To Sustainability. The following day, Thursday 7 April, CHSA Chair Lorcan Mekitarian, will advise buyers of cleaning and hygiene products to look for the CHSA Accreditation Scheme mark to be certain they get what they pay for.

The Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) has announced its continued support for UK charity Grief Encounter, as its nominated charity for 2022. Around 45,000 children experience the death of a parent or sibling in the UK every year, with an additional 10,000 children having experienced bereavement as a direct result of Covid-19 in 2021.

Buyers of cleaning and hygiene products can continue to rely on the guarantee of the Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association’s (CHSA) Accreditation Scheme mark following exceptional compliance during 2021. The CHSA’s Independent Inspector conducted 143 audits during the year, inspecting every member of the CHSA. More than 3,800 individual items were checked across all the Schemes making sure “what’s on the box is what’s in the box”.

After completing almost their entire A’ Level courses under the shadow of the coronavirus pandemic, three talented young people are celebrating. Chloe Dunn, Phoebe Stevenson and Molly Black have been selected as the recipients of the Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association’s (CHSA) 2021 Undergraduate Bursaries.

The Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association is delighted to welcome the Socius Network into the Association. The Network was welcomed on board after each of its 18 members successfully passed the initial audit conducted by the CHSA’s Independent Inspector. The Socius Network is an association of well-respected and established independent distributors of non-food consumables to the foodservice industry. The Network was founded in April 2008. Between them, its members have over 25 locations covering the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands.

The coronavirus pandemic did not stop the Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) auditing members, giving buyers of cleaning and hygiene products the certainty that ‘what’s on the box is what’s in the box’. During 2020, a total of 146 audits took place, equaling the number of audits conducted in 2019. Members across all the Schemes achieved compliance of 93% or more.

Young people may not yet be certain of the detail of what’s replacing A’ Levels this summer but there is one thing they can rely on – the Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association’s (CHSA) Bursary. “Young people are living in an uncertain world,” said David Garcia, Vice President and Treasurer of the CHSA and the driving force behind the Association’s Bursary programme. “The past 12 months have been incredibly challenging for them, with continual changes to their schooling. We know there will be no A’ Levels but we still don’t know the detail of what will take their place. In the midst of this uncertainty, young people can depend on our Bursary. Our commitment to supporting talented young people remains unwavering.”

Many of the 14 million people in the UK living in poverty are forced to make tough choices between buying food, paying utilities, or keeping clean. For the UK’s first National Hygiene Week, Cleanology has teamed up with The Hygiene Bank, which raises awareness about hygiene poverty and distributes personal hygiene and cleaning products to those in need.

The Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) is launching an Accreditation Scheme for the Manufacturers of Cleaning Chemicals. This move means the CHSA has achieved its strategic ambition of Accrediting all members. The combination of the Association’s rigorous Code of Practice and its Accreditation Schemes guarantees its members trade ethically and work hard to maintain standards in the industry.
