Preventing the spread of illness in the workplace is critical for productivity and there is understandably a current global focus on preventative health measures to minimise exposure to viruses.
Hygiene in the workplace starts with hand hygiene. It is estimated that over 90% of adults do not wash their hands for long enough to thoroughly clean away bacteria and viruses, and according to a 2019 report from Mintel, 15% of young men in the UK do not think it is important to wash their hands after using the toilet.

RoSPA has developed guidance, titled Safer by design, to help those involved in the planning and development of new-build projects ensure they are preventing the most common accidents in their homes, with a particular focus on falls – at least 700 people die as a result of falling on domestic stairs every year. In a market that is increasingly becoming defined by a ‘lowest-cost’ approach, it’s time to shatter the myth that out-sourcing is simply a cost cutting exercise.
On the contrary, there is growing demand from customers for responsive, connected and seamlessly delivered services and outsourcing is helping to meet those challenges.
Nevertheless, the so-called ‘race to the bottom’ that prioritises cutting costs continues to damage the market and cause businesses to overlook the real benefits of partnering with a specialist outsourced contact centre provider.
