GROUNDS CARE GROUP TEAMS UP WITH BRITISH TOURING CAR CHAMPIONSHIP STAR TO OFFSET CARBON FOOTPRINT WITH TREE-PLANTING DRIVE
Surrey based commercial landscaping company, Grounds Care Group has teamed up with Toyota Gazoo Racing UK British Touring Car Championship star Rory Butcher, in a bid to offset his carbon footprint by planting trees at race circuits all around the country.
Grounds Care Group Managing Director, Adam Brindle said: “Tree planting is one of our key focusses at the Grounds Care Group, so when Rory mentioned to me that he wanted to find a way to offset his carbon footprint from travelling to race events, it seemed like the natural solution. Race circuits might be best known for the ribbon of Tarmac on which the cars compete, but they also have acres of green space ripe for planting trees, which in turn will help to preserve the land for generations to come.
Magenta Security supports IFPO research into frontline security officers
Magenta Security is calling on all individuals and companies within the security sector to take part in ground-breaking research commissioned by The International Foundation for Protection Officers.
The research which is being undertaken on behalf of the IFPO will be conducted by Perpetuity Research and is open to security officers and guards up to the level of “supervisor” in Canada Ecuador, India, Ireland, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, UK and the USA.
Mitsubishi UK heritage auction concludes with world record hammer price of £100,100 for its Lancer Evolution VI Tommi Mäkinen
The Mitsubishi Motors heritage auction drew to a close on the evening of April 30, 2021 and, after values had climbed steady throughout the month of April, there was a flurry of last minute action as the auction deadline for each lot approached.
Unsurprisingly, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Tommi Mäkinen Edition was the most sought-after car in the auction, with a top bid of £100,100 setting what is a record hammer price for a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (previously around £99,000 for a delivery-mileage Evo IX set in the US in 2017).
Volvo Cars’ global sales up by 97.5 per cent in April
Volvo Cars achieved its 10th consecutive month of sales growth, as the company’s global sales increased by 97.5 per cent in April compared with the same month last year.
In April, Volvo Cars sold a total of 62,724 cars, up from 31,760 cars in the same period last year. The growth was mainly driven by strong demand in the US and Europe, in combination with a recovery from a sales drop in April last year related to the Covid-19 pandemic. In China, where sales returned to growth around this time last year, the company reported a steady increase of 11.6 per cent.

Mitsubishi Electric has launched its new Plasma Quad Connect air purifier for improved indoor air quality. The bolt-on device can neutralise six key indoor pollutants, as well as inhibit 99.8% of SARS-CoV-2 [i].
Plasma Quad Connect can be bolted on to Mitsubishi Electric’s air conditioning for both new and existing indoor units across the M Series, Mr Slim and City Multi ranges.
